My Birthday

I had a great birthday. Jeff surprised me the day before my birthday by taking the day off. He made us a yummy breakfast and arranged for Auntie Len to watch the kids. He was hoping that it would be sunny and planned to take me to Carmel or San Francisco but it was a stormy day and I don't like to drive far when it's bad weather. (It usually rains on my birthday. I always remember getting balloons at school and they'd be dragging behind me beat down by the rain.) So I changed the plans- one of my favorite things to do on a stormy day is to watch the ocean so we went to coffee at Mr. Toots (right on the ocean). It was fun to sit and talk. I told him about my desire for more adventure so we decided to do an Adventure Race that we saw advertised. It involves a run, bike, kayak, and other team elements. It will give me good incentive to work out and it sounds like a lot of fun. We're going to do that in May. YOU can join us if you want. I also told him that I want to help build our addition. So he's going to teach me how to use the power tools. It's also been fun to plan out our addition and pick out some of details. After coffee we went to a matinee viewing of Slumdog Millionaire, which was a great movie. It's sad to see slum life in India but it's a really well done movie. Then we had an early dinner at a Mexican food restaurant- also on the beach. Storm waves are so cool to watch. The sun broke out while we were there. After dinner, we went home and the kids were happy and exhausted. Auntie Len had helped them make a cake so we ate cake with then and they went to bed early. It was a great and relaxing birthday. Thanks Jeff, Ann Helen, and everyone that called, e-mailed, Facebooked, and thought of me.
